Pistol Pete Maravich averaged 44.2 points per game in his four years at LSU from 1966-1970. During his college years, the 3-point line hadn’t been invented yet. Former LSU basketball coach Dale Brown charted all of Maravich’s shots and calculated that had he played with the 3-point line, he would have averaged 13 three point shots a game, raising his college career average to 57 points a game. Pistol put up 50 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists in his very first game as a freshman at LSU.
